  • Description
X10 VA11A Video to USB Digital Video Adapter Converter for Camera Video Sender.

The X10 VA11A is a legacy USB video capture adapter designed specifically for the X10 home automation ecosystem. It serves as the digital bridge between analog cameras (like the XCam2 or Anaconda) and your PC.

This adapter is a specialized "Video to USB" converter. Its primary job is to take a standard composite video signal and convert it into a digital stream that can be viewed and recorded on a computer.

Primary Function: USB 1.1 Video Capture Adapter. It allows users to view live video from security cameras directly on their PC monitors.

Hardware Interface: * Input: Single RCA (Yellow) Composite Video female jack.

Output: USB Type-A male connector.

Software Dependency: Unlike generic modern capture cards, the VA11A is proprietary. It is designed to work exclusively with X10 software suites like ActiveHome Pro, MultiView, and Vanguard.

OS Compatibility: This is a vintage part. It was built for Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, and XP.

Specs:
The X10 VA11A is powered directly by your computer's USB port (5V DC) and typically draws between 150mA and 200mA while in use. For the best performance and a stable image, I recommend plugging it directly into one of the USB ports on the back of your computer rather than using a USB hub.

Regarding the output, it converts analog RCA composite video into a digital 320 x 240 resolution stream for viewing on your PC. Please keep in mind that this specific model is designed for legacy systems (Windows XP/2000/98) and requires the original X10 drivers to function.
